As the elder daughter in the family, I'm always the one who have to take up the responsibility. Sometimes it's kinda stressful for me especially when there's lot of things that is pending to be solved and time is always not enough. I'm always the driver who have to fetch grandma to the market every Sunday morning or taking care of grandpa health condition and making sure he eat his medicine on time. It seems like some easy job but sometimes you just hate it when you have to wake up early every single day.
Until you realize there's not much time left for you to spend with the elderly.
I was out with friends on a relaxing Sunday and realized grandpa vomited when I reached home. Its in black colour and I thought that's because he had coffee in the afternoon. He looks pale, weak and no appetite which is very rare cause he love to eat and he eat almost everything. LOL.
So I brought him to clinic and that old doctor told me he suspected my grandpa got heart attack and told me to send him to hospital emergency ward. ._.
He just listen to my grandpa heartbeat and stop the helper from putting on the blood pressure cuff by giving her a NO hand sign. At the time I saw his action I already got panicked since I'm the only one there and my grandpa keep telling me he is very dizzy (I don't think I can carry him if he faint). I rushed to the hospital after I got the refer letter from the clinic.
After sent him into the emergency ward, I waited outside.
Since the doctor told me my grandpa suspected heart attack, I called my aunt just in case anything serious happen. So they came after dinner and we waited outside for few hours. Somehow that's my second time waiting in the emergency. I remembered the first time waited there alone when brother is inside the ward. The feeling of endless hours waiting alone is so terrified. Parents were outstation at that time and I don't know who to find. End up Kenji who's doing national service in Singapore skype and talk with me.
Kay, back to the topic. We waited till 1a.m. and the investigating report is out and we've been told my grandpa is having internal bleeding. He have to admit hospital and we went home after all the check in process.
The next day, we've been told the causes of internal bleeding is due to stomach ulcer and he have to stay in the ward for few days after the treatment. So, I was busy in and out hospital till Friday after he's allowed to discharge.
Attended cousin Ang's wedding in hometown during the weekend and back to KL on Monday. I brought him to his medical check up and the doctor told me have to be very careful cause the dose of the medicine my grandpa consuming to prevent heart attack has been lowered to stop his internal bleeding. On the same day, my mom knocked my door in 3a.m. and told me my grandpa is unconscious. My grandma was so worried cause we all thought that he has heart attack. Called ambulance, the medical team checked and its because his sugar level dropped to 2 which is extremely low for patient who have diabetes. After they injected some medicine, he's back to normal but he still have to go hospital. I followed and there goes my third time staying outside emergency ward alone. Back to home early morning changed and back to work.
After this incident, there's few people praised me for what I've done and saying I'm so independent and reliable. I'm really thankful for every single things that I've went through and make me stronger and tougher today. And then I tell myself not to complaint anymore. Spending a little time with them is actually not that hard and it's so precious cause life is unpredictable.☮
